Afghanistan will begin their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 journey with a match against Bangladesh on October 7 in Dharamsala.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will begin on October 5 in India. A total of ten teams will play in this competition, and England are the defending champions. This tournament will be played across ten venues in India in a round-robin format. Every team will play nine other teams in one game during the group stage.
Afghanistan qualified directly for the upcoming tournament on the basis of Super League points. They will enter their third World Cup tournament. Afghanistan made their debut in the World Cup in 2015 in Australia, and since then, they have played in their third consecutive edition.
Afghanistan to play WC games in 7 different venues
Afghanistan will open their campaign with a match against Bangladesh on October 7 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Afghanistan’s strength will be their spinners, as they have an incredible spin attack led by Rashid Khan. They will play at seven different venues throughout the tournament. They will play two games in Delhi against India and England, while two matches will be played in Chennai against New Zealand and Pakistan.
When and Where to buy Afghanistan cricket team’s game tickets?
The ICC confirmed on Wednesday that ticket sales will start on August 25. Fans can book tickets for non-Indian warm-up and World Cup games from August 25 onwards. It means all tickets for Afghanistan’s games will be on sale starting August 25. However, tickets for the India vs Afghanistan game on October 15 will be available on August 31.
