Alyssa Healy is recovering from a calf strain and is likely to miss the semi-final against India in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

India Women Cricket Team and Australia Women Cricket Team will clash in the semi-final of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 on Thursday, October 30. With summit clash around the corner, the defending champions have faced a massive blow as their captain Alyssa Healy is doubtful for the clash due to a calf strain.

Healy suffered a calf strain during training after Australia’s match against Bangladesh Women. As a result, she was ruled out of their last two games against South Africa Women and England Women. The right-handed was in stunning form in her last two appearances, smacking centuries against India and Bangladesh.

Across four games in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, Healy has scored 294 runs at an average of 98.0 and a strike rate of 131.25 with two centuries. In the clash against India Women, she played a pivotal role in the team’s victory with her 142-run knock, taking the team home by three wickets in a 331-run chase.

Australia Women’s coach Shelley Nitschke provides an update on Alyssa Healy’s fitness

On Saturday, October 25, Australia Women defeated South Africa Women by seven wickets in their last league match to confirm their top spot in the points table with 13 points. During the post-match press conference, Australia Women’s head coach Shelley Nitschke gave an update on Healy’s fitness, saying that they are are hopeful that Healy would be fit ahead of the semi-final against India. However, a final decision would be made in the next few days.

“Obviously she wasn’t quite up to it tonight, but she’ll continue to be assessed. We’re really hopeful for the semi, but there are still a few days to play out before that. We’re hopeful again, and she’ll just continue to be assessed the closer we get to the game,” she said.

Meanwhile, India Women will take on Bangladesh Women in a dead-rubber game on Sunday, October 26 at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai before meeting the defending champions in the semis. They booked their berth in the semi-finals after crushing New Zealand Women in their last game by 53 runs (DLS method).

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side are bound to face a tough challenge against Australia Women in the semi-finals as the latter have been unbeaten so far in the tournament. Australia Women have won six games out of seven, with one clash ending with no result.
