Virat Kohli has managed to hit only two test centuries since 2021.

Australian women’s team captain Alyssa Healy has ranked Virat Kohli at the last spot among the famed ‘Fab Four’ batsmen – the other three being Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson.

This batting quartet has dominated world cricket’s batting charts over the past decade. However, Kohli seems to have slipped behind a bit in the last few years when it comes to test cricket. The India star has the least number of test centuries and the worst test batting average among the ‘Fab Four’.

If you’re basing it on numbers, Kohli will sit fourth for me: Alyssa Healy

Alyssa, who is the wife of Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, stated that objectively Kohli would be slotted at number four among the ‘Fab Four’ considering purely the numbers. However, the Australian women’s wicket-keeper hailed Kohli’s dominance and consistency across different conditions in the world.

“I’m going to put Kohli as fourth. But I rate him as No. 1 in everything else. But if you’re basing it on numbers, Kohli will sit fourth for me. I’m looking at it analytically,” Healy said speaking on the LiSTNR Sport podcast.

“I think about how much cricket he plays and that’s where I look at his stats. And they are remarkable based on the sheer amount of cricket he plays and the pressure he is under,” she added.

Healy opined that while Kohli enjoys the support of other batsmen in his side, others like Williamson don’t have that luxury.

“Williamson has carried the whole New Zealand team, whereas, for Virat, he is the greatest player in the world, let’s be real. But with him, it’s like someone else is always there. Rohit Sharma can score hundreds. KL Rahul can score a 100,” she asserted.

Kohli will next be seen in action in the upcoming test series against Bangladesh.
