Australia will play a 5-match T20I series against India after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Australian coach Andrew McDonald will be traveling back to Australia after the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India and will be rested for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against India. McDonald will be taking a break after the World Cup 2023 to take rest and prepare for the upcoming red-ball series against Pakistan back home in December 2023. Assistant coach Andre Borovec will be taking up the responsibility as head coach for the upcoming series.

Australian cricket team will stay for two more weeks after the end of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as they will be playing a 5-match T20I series against India starting on 23rd November at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. Andre Borovec is currently associated with Australian cricket team as an assistant coach. Australia also played a 3-match ODI series against India before the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Andrew McDonald to take another break

Australian head coach Andrew McDonald also took a break from the T20I series against South Africa, which was played in the first week of September. Former Australian opening batter Michael Di Venuto was also part of Australian coaching team. Mickael Di Venuto will also be taking a rest after the World Cup 2023 and will join the team when Australian summer begins. This has provided Andre Borovec with an opportunity to lead from the front.

Andre Borovec is 45 years old, and he represented Victoria in Australian domestic cricket. This will be Borovec’s first assignment as head coach of the team due to the top two members of the support staff taking a break. Borovec began his coaching career for Victorian cricket circuit and was associated with Geelong Cricket Club for a long period of time. Interestingly, Borovec was the coach of the club when Andrew McDonald was in the final days of his career.

Andrew McDonald then included Andre Borovec in his coaching staff at the Melbourne Renegades. The first T20I between India and Australia will be played in Visakhapatnam on November 23, the second game will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on November 26, the third game will be played in Guwahati on November 28, the fourth will be in Nagpur on December 1, and the final game will be played in Bengaluru on December 3.
