Rain might play a spoilsport during IND vs NEP Asia Cup 2023 Group A clash at Pallekele.

Pakistan have secured their place in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 round after earning one point in their second league game against India. Both teams had to share a point each after rain washed out the Pakistan chase on Saturday at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Kandy. They have also become the first to officially qualify for the next round in Asia Cup 2023. Second hot favourites India are yet to make their official entry in the Super 4 round scheduled to be played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

What will happen in case of a washout in IND vs NEP Asia Cup 2023 Group A match:

India will be taking on Nepal in their next league encounter on Monday in Kandy. The winner of this game will go through to the next round and join Pakistan as a Group A team. Rain is likely a threat in the next game as well. There are predictions of heavy thunderstorms in Kandy on Monday and once again a washout could be possible in Asia Cup 2023. After India shared a point in their opening game, fans are wondering what will happen if rain spoils India’s next league game as well.

In case of a washout, India and Nepal will be sharing a point each just like India and Pakistan did on Saturday. India will have 2 points after their league round will be over as they get one from each encounter and will qualify for the Super 4 round. Nepal will only have a point in their league campaign as they suffered a heavy defeat against Pakistan in their opening game. Group A will then finish as this, Pakistan 3 points in 2 games, India 2 points in 2 games, and Nepal 1 point in 2 games.

Nepal need a magical upset

Pakistan will end up as an A1 Team as they will end up as Group A topper, and India will be tagged as A2. In Super 4 once again these two teams will meet on 10th September. Nepal will need to create a magical performance to upset India and qualify for the Super 4. Nepal need a win against India to join Pakistan as second Group A team in the Super 4. They will be looking to just enjoy their time playing against the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

In Group B, There will be a tightrope finish as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will be challenging each other in the league round. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh in their opening game and have earned 2 points. On Sunday, Lahore will be hosting Bangladesh’s clash against Afghanistan. The last league game will also be played at the same venue between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. All three of them are contenders for the championship.
