According to weather.com, there is an 86% chance of rain on Wednesday during the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka encounter. Most of the showers are expected to happen during the game, as 3 PM to 11 PM is the maximum amount of rain Colombo is expected to receive. Rain has been a constant feature in the ongoing drought, and almost every game in the country has suffered from persistent showers or interruptions. India vs Sri Lanka also witnessed a passing shower on Monday, prompting the players to be off the field for almost an hour.

Increasing humidity levels are also one of the main causes of showers after clouds build up in the sky over Khettarama. The humidity is likely to remain above 90% throughout the day in Colombo on Wednesday. The temperature is likely to remain a little higher than usual for the past few days. The maximum temperature can go up to 31° C, while the minimum stops at 25° C later in the evening. The wind is also likely to be there in Khettarama as the monsoon clouds build up over the capital city of Colombo.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan both need to win this game to keep themselves alive in Asia Cup. A loss in this game will mean their campaign comes to an end. Bangladesh are almost knocked out of the tournament and will play their last game in the tournament against India on September 15. Pakistani batters have struggled against spin bowlers, and Sri Lanka will be looking to unleash their spin trio early in the encounter. A better bowling performance will end the game for each team, as it will be an interesting battle between the two Asian giants.
