Asia Cup 2023 will be played in the ODI format in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The top Asia Cricket battle is set to begin in Pakistan and Sri Lanka on 30th August. The highly anticipated clash between the neighbors will set the tone for the mega event in October-November. For the first time in history, two different nations will be hosting the Asia Cup event. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be hosting the event starting on 30th August to 17th September. The 6-team event will be played in a 50-overs format with three teams divided into two groups. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan are part of Group A along with a new entry in the tournament Nepal. While Group B is considered a tough group along with two arch-rivals Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, underdogs Afghanistan are also part of that.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka to host the event

Asia Cup opener will be hosted at Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan between hosts Pakistan and Nepal on 30th August. Pakistan chose Lahore and Multan as two cities to host the Asia Cup, while Sri Lanka will be hosting the event in Colombo and Kandy.

The biggest Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan will be played on 2nd September at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy. Another big clash between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played on 31st August at Pallekele Stadium in Kandy. This is one new rivalry brewing in the last few years in cricket and Pallekele is sold out for the day.
