Asia Cup 2023 Super Four schedule announced; India to play Pakistan on 10th September
Super Four round of Asia Cup 2023 will begin with Pakistan taking on Bangladesh on Wednesday.
As Asia Cup 2023 is going on, fans are excited to see the super four round between the Asian giants. This prestigious tournament commenced with a clash between the host nation, Pakistan taking on Nepal, in Multan. Asia Cup 2023 is co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The tournament opener witnessed a match from group A, where Pakistan defeated Nepal by a staggering 238-runs margin at the Multan Cricket Stadium. This commanding victory set the tone for Pakistan's campaign, signalling their intent to capture Asia Cup 2023 title. In a contest eagerly awaited by cricket fans worldwide, between arch-rivals India and Pakistan rain played spoilsport, resulting in both teams securing a point each. India, however, secured their place in the super four by comfortably defeating Nepal by 10 wickets with the DLS method.
In group B, Sri Lanka emerged as the table toppers, winning both their matches against Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Bangladesh also showcased their abilities with a convincing win over Afghanistan, sealing their position in the super four. While the last game of league matches was a thrilling encounter between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, where Afghanistan had a chance to make their way to Super Four is they chased down the target in 37.3 overs. The match came down to the last wicket and Afghanistan still had a chance, but the hosts Sri Lanka snatched the victory from the visitors.
Super four round to start from 6th September at Lahore
Super four stage will kick off on September 6, promising even more intense and thrilling encounters. The first super four match will witness Pakistan taking on Bangladesh at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. This clash between two cricketing powerhouses will set the stage for the next phase of the tournament.
On September 9, Sri Lanka, leaders from group B, will lock horns with Bangladesh at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium. The following day, September 10, cricket fans can expect an epic clash as traditional rivals India and Pakistan square off at the same venue. Everyone, including players and fans, is waiting for an exciting match between the two nations. India will then take on Sri Lanka, who were the leaders of group B. Then on April 14, we will witness both co-hosts of the tournament take on each other, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. super four will end with the match between India and Bangladesh on September 15.
