India won Asia Cup 2025 after beating Pakistan in the final.
The Asia Cup 2025 concluded on a thrilling note and it was expected as two arch-rivals in India and Pakistan were up against each other in the summit clash. The match between the two sides took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday (28th September).
India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final of Asia Cup 2025. This was their seventh consecutive win in the tournament as they won it undefeated. This was also the ninth title win as they extended their dominance in the league.
After Pakistan were put into bat first, Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) looked extremely solid with the bat as they provided a brilliant start to their team. Their opening stand of 84 runs put India on the back foot as the bowlers looked clueless. However, the comeback by India was nothing more than exceptional.
Spinners in Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel were all over the Pakistan batters. Kuldeep opened the floodgates for the opposition as he removed Saim Ayub and then after that, he, along with others, oozed their class with the ball.
Kuldeep picked four wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel also bagged two wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah, in the end, also picked two wickets as India bundled out Pakistan for 146 with the Salman Agha-led side losing the last nine wickets for just 33.
India had a shaky start to their chase as they lost their top three in Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav and were left reeling at three for 20. But after that, Tilak Varma (69*) took the centre stage and took the game away from the opposition.
First, Sanju Samson (23) added 57 runs with Tilak and then Shivam Dube (33) stitched 60 runs with him as they put Pakistan under pressure. In the end, Rinku Singh hit the winning runs as India won the game in the last over.
