Asia Cup 2025 will be played from September 9 in the UAE.
The countdown for Asia Cup 2025 has begun as the tournament will commence on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Eight teams will lock horns for the title during the tournament. A total of 19 games will be played in the tournament, including the final.
India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman are part of Group A in the tournament. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong are placed in Group B. Each team will play three games during the group stage. Two teams from each group will proceed to the next round, which is Super Four. The top two teams in the Super Four points table will then make it to the finals, which will be played on September 28th.
Notably, the organisers have made a change to the start timings of Asia Cup 2025 matches. The temperature in the UAE in September reaches 40 degrees in the day and stays that way till late evenings. Hence, the cricket boards requested the games to be pushed a little to avoid playing in scorching heat.
One but all Asia Cup 2025 matches to start at 8 PM IST
Hence, all the matches of the tournament will start 30 minutes late at 6:30 PM local time. According to IST, the matches will begin at 8 PM. Notably, only one match has not been affected by this change, which is the afternoon game between UAE and Oman on September 15. The seventh match of the tournament between the UAE and Oman will be played from 4:00 PM local time, which is 5:30 IST.

Meanwhile, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the two venues for Asia Cup 2025. Defending champions India, who will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav this year, will begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10th.
