Asia Cup 2025: Updated points table after match 7, UAE vs Oman

UAE thrashed Oman by 42 runs in match 7 of Asia Cup 2025.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) registered their first win of Asia Cup 2025 as they defeated Oman by 42 runs at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Monday. With the win, they kept their hopes to qualify for the Super Four stage alive.
The UAE had a blistering start to their innings with Alishan Sharafu (51) and skipper Muhammad Waseem (69) bringing out their best with the bat. The duo added 88 runs for the opening stand but Oman made a slight comeback with two quick wickets.
After that, Muhammad Zohaib (21) provided great support to skipper Waseem as they stitched 49 runs in just 29 balls. Waseem kept battling hard and batted till the last over before bagging an unfortunate run out.
Harshit Kaushik (19*) played a brilliant cameo in the end as UAE posted a total of 172 for five. For Oman, Jiten Ramanandi bagged two wickets.
In the chase, Oman lost opening batter Aamir Kaleem for just two. Soon after him, captain Jatinder Singh (20), who looked good with the bat, perished soon as the UAE came to the top.
Oman couldn’t get going at all after that and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Aryan Bisht (24) and Vinayak Shukla (20) fought hard, but the UAE bowlers were all over them. Junaid Siddique picked four wickets as they bundled out Oman for 130 to win the game by 42 runs.

With the UAE’s win over Oman in match 7 of the tournament, they’ve earned two points and kept their hopes alive for Super Four stage. Moreover, the table-toppers from group A, India, have now qualified for the Super Four stage with Pakistan and the UAE being other contenders. Pakistan occupy the second spot, while the UAE are positioned third in the group’s points table.
In Group B, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka take the top two spots. Bangladesh are third followed by Hong Kong at the last spot.
