Pakistan defeated Oman by 93 runs in fourth match of Asia Cup 2025.

Pakistan kicked off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a dominating victory against Oman by 93 runs on Friday, September 12. Oman completely struggled with the bat while chasing a target of 161 runs in the encounter, losing their wickets like a pack of cards. In the end, they were bowled out for just 67 runs.

For Pakistan, Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Faheem Ashraf bagged two wickets each. Earlier in the game, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost opener Saim Ayub for a duck, however, Sahibzada Farhan (29) and Mohammad Haris (66) etched a crucial stand of 85 runs for the second wicket.

Later, Fakhar Zaman (23* off 16) and Mohammad Nawaz (19 off 10) added crucial runs towards the end, powering the team total to 160/7. For Oman, Shah Faisal and Aamir Kaleem captured three wickets each, while Mohammad Nadeem got one scalp.

India, with two points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +10.483, hold the top spot in Group A points table in Asia Cup 2025. After their victory against Oman in the match, Pakistan grab the second spot in group B points table with two points and NRR of +4.65. Oman and the UAE, who are yet to register a win, occupy the last two spots.

In Group B, Afghanistan hold the peak position with two points and NRR of +4.700, followed by Bangladesh with two points and NRR of +1.001. Hong Kong, who lost their first two games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh, languish at bottom of the group B standings.

Litton Das (59) and Azmatullah Omarzai (53) clinch the third and fourth places respectively. Babar Hayat occupies the fifth spot with 53 runs.
