India quailed for the final of Asia Cup 2025 with their win over Bangladesh in the Super Four clash.
The Indian Cricket Team qualified for the final as they beat Bangladesh Cricket Team by 41 runs in their second game of the Super Four stage of Asia Cup 2025. The Dubai International Stadium was a host to a thriller on Wednesday as the game went down to the wire. This means that Pakistan vs Bangladesh will be a knockout game now and the winners will advance to the final.
Unlike the last match, Indian openers Shubman Gill (29) and Abhishek Sharma (75) provided a watchful start with the bat, taking three overs to assess the conditions. However, after that, they unleashed themselves and added 55 runs in the last three overs, finishing power play with 72 runs.
Their 77-run opening stand ended after Gill perished to Rishad Hossain but Abhishek, at the other end, kept belting the bowlers. He slammed his second consecutive half-century of the tournament and put bowlers under pressure.
After he got out, India struggled to get going and also change in the batting order didn’t help as they were reduced to 129 for five inside 15 overs. Hardik Pandya (38) then provided a solid finish to the innings as India ended with 168 for six.
Bangladesh had a poor start to their innings as Tanzid Hasan Tamim perished in the second over. But Saif Hassan (69) and Parvez Hossain Emon (21) made up for the early loss, taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. They added 42 runs for the second wicket and ensured that Bangladesh had a decent power play.
The introduction of the spinners then applied breaks on the scoring rates as Bangladesh lost a few quick wickets to see themselves reeling at 87 for five. While the wickets kept tumbling at one end, Saif continued putting Indian bowlers under pressure before Jasprit Bumrah removed him in the 18th over.
After his wicket, India took the command and ended Bangladesh’s innings on 127, winning by 41 runs. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
