India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the final to win Asia Cup 2025.
India and Pakistan produced a thrilling final on Sunday, and once again, India were too good for Pakistan on the field, recording a five-wicket win to bag yet another Asia Cup title in their kitty. Tilak Varma was the hero for his side as he played a mature knock to seal the deal.
Before that, the Indian bowling controlled Pakistan, restricting them at 146/10. It was a complete domination from India in the tournament as they finished undefeated, including three wins over Pakistan.
However, one can say that India didn’t have a complete performance in any game, but they still performed better than others. There were some great individual performances from other teams as well, which impressed everyone. Here we draft the best XI of Asia Cup 2025, consisting of players who set the stage on fire.
Best Playing XI of Asia Cup 2025
1. Abhishek Sharma (India)

If there is one player who was unstoppable throughout the tournament, it was Indian opener Abhishek Sharma. Though he couldn’t score much in the final, he did enough damage in other matches, playing a big part in India’s success. He ended up with 314 runs at an average of 44.85 and a mind-boggling strike rate of 200. He will be the perfect opener for this team.
2. Pathum Nissanka (Sri Lanka)

Pathum Nissanka came into Asia Cup 2025 with great form, and he continued that in the tournament. He failed in a few games, and Sri Lanka lost those games. 5. Shivam Dube (India)

Though the numbers won’t show you much, Shivam Dube played a crucial role in this tournament. He picked up five wickets at an economy rate of 7.76. Him bowling with the new ball in the final was a big gamble, and he responded very well. Then, with the bat, he played a crucial knock of 33 off 22, taking India close to a win. Hence, he can be a good pick at five.

If we look at all participating teams, not many wicket-keepers did well. Sanju Samson was the best wicket-keeper batter in the tournament. Hence, he will be the keeper batter of this team. Samson played well for his 24 off 21 in the final and made a good partnership with Tilak. Overall, he scored 132 runs in four innings at an average of 33.
7. Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka)

Former Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka also had a pretty good tournament. He failed in the first few games because the Sri Lankan top order was doing well. But, when he got the chance, he did well overall. Shanaka scored 93 runs at an average and strike rate of 46.50 and 169.09, respectively. He also took five wickets at an economy rate of 8.18. He finished with the most wickets (17) this edition, setting a new record for most wickets in a single edition of the T20I Asia Cup. On two occasions, he took three wickets in one over, which is another great feat.
9. Varun Chakaravarthy (India)

Kuldeep, without Varun Chakaravarthy, might have had to do more hard work. Varun might not be among the top wicket-takers, but the pressure he was putting on the batters helped Kuldeep take his wickets. Varun took seven wickets in the tournament and bowled an economy rate of 6.50. These two will make a perfect spin duo for this team.
10. Shaheen Afridi (Pakistan)
Shaheen Shah Afridi ended with the second-most wickets in Asia Cup 2025. He suffered hammering against India in the first two games but bounced back well in the final. He looked in great rhythm and will be the new-ball bowler for this team.
11. Jasprit Bumrah (India)
Jasprit Bumrah had an average tournament, to say the least. He was nowhere near his best, but still, he made an impact when it was required. Bumrah took seven wickets in five games and bowled some game-changing spells. Along with Shaheen, he will make a dream new-ball pair for this team.
