The fifth and final AUS vs ENG Test will start at 5 AM IST on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney.
The fourth test between Australia and England moved on at a rapid pace. In two days, the result came out, which led to criticism. But after everything, England returned as the happier side as they managed to pull off a win on Australian soil after a wait of almost 15 years.
England’s previous Test win down under came in January 2011, and they waited for 18 tests to get their second win. Australia had only themselves to blame, as they had a poor game with the bat. Now these two teams will be back in action for the final time in the Ashes 2025-26.
The final test is slated to be held at Sydney Cricket Ground between January 4 and 8. This is the final time that Usman Khawaja will wear the baggy green, as he will be retiring after the SCG test.
For England, Gus Atkinson is out due to injury, and Matthew Potts has replaced him. There was not even a single over of spin at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), but we might see spinners operating from both sides in the final test.
Australia would like a win and to give Khawaja a memorable farewell and also collect crucial ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points. For England, it has come down to their pride. They faced a lot of backlash after the third test and have responded well. Now, they need one more good performance here to end the tour with two consecutive wins.
