Australia are ahead in the ongoing AUS vs ENG pink-ball test at The Gabba.

Day 4 of the second Ashes 2025-26 test at the Gabba, Brisbane can be the last day of the test as England struggle in the second innings. Australia reduced the visitors to 134/6 after taking a lead of 177 runs at the end of the first innings. The Aussies recovered in the last session of Day 2 to take a 44-run lead.

On Day 3, this lead was extended by Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc. The wicket-keeper scored 63 runs while Starc added 77 runs to take Australia’s total to 511. In reply, England started with aplomb as Zak Crawley led the onslaught. After the first six overs, England had already amassed more than 40 runs.

Ben Duckett failed again and was dismissed by Scott Boland to provide Australia with the first breakthrough. Ollie Pope showed some resistance batting at No.3, but he could not make the most of the start. Pope got out for 26 runs off 32 deliveries.

Ollie Pope’s dismissal started a mini collapse of the English batting order that stopped at stumps with 134/6. The first innings’ centurion, Joe Root, could only score 15 in the second innings. Captain Ben Stokes and Will Jacks were on the crease at the stumps, and they will look to rescue England on Day 4.
