Australia made a solid comeback on the day three of the AUS vs ENG Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney.

Just when it seemed, England are taking command in the game, Australia plundered them yet again and bounced back hard. The fifth Test of Ashes 2025-26, which is underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney, at stumps on Day 3, is in favour of Australia now after the visitors had a solid day two.

Australia resumed day three at 166 for two with Travis Head unbeaten at 90. The opening batter went on to slam a sensational ton, his third of the series, and went on to complete 600 runs in the ongoing series against England.

Head went on to slam a big knock of 163 runs and was equally matched by Steve Smith, who finally hit a hundred in the series. The premier batter looked at his best and took the game away from England.

Smith remained unbeaten at 129 and held the one end, while Michael Neser (24), Usman Khawaja (17) and Alex Carey (16) failed to contribute. But, Cameron Green (37) came up with a vital hand before Beau Webster took charge.

Webster (42*) along with Smith added 81 runs as Australia took a massive lead of 134 runs. At stumps on day three, Australia were 518 for seven.
