AUS vs SA: Dewald Brevis smashes 41-ball ton in 2nd T20I; Registers second-fastest T20I ton by a South African batter

The second T20I between Australia and South Africa, which is being played at the Marara Oval in Darwin, saw South Africa’s Dewald Brevis annihilate Australia’s bowling and score a 41-ball century.
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first in the second T20I. Aiden Markram (18), Ryan Rickelton (14), and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (10) made contributions as South Africa slid to 57/3 in 6.5 overs.
However, then Dewald Brevis took over and added a vital 126 runs for the fourth wicket with Tristan Stubbs. In the partnership, Brevis completed his half-century in just 25 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes at that point.
Dewald Brevis smashed the second-fastest T20I ton for South Africa.

Tristan Stubbs made 31 runs with three fours and looked set before trying to hoick a ball against Adam Zampa and getting caught out by Matthew Kuhnemann. But Dewald Brevis then kicked into the topmost gear with only a few partners left.
He continued to rain sixes and fours on Australian bowling and brought up his maiden T20I ton, in only his ninth T20I, in 41 deliveries. Overall, Dewald Brevis made 125* in 56 balls with 12 fours and eight sixes, powering South Africa to their highest T20I score against Australia—218/7in 20 overs.
Ben Dwarshuis and Glenn Maxwell took two wickets each for Australia.
This made him the second fastest South African to reach a ton in T20Is, just behind the 35-ball effort by David Miller against Bangladesh in 2017.
Richard Levi has a 45-ball ton against New Zealand in 2012, and Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis have each hit 46-ball centuries for South Africa in T20Is.
