The three-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan will be played in November 2024.
Cricket Australia (CA) announced the 14-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series at home against the Pakistan cricket team on October 14.
The upcoming series will also mark the return captain captain Pat Cummins to action, who hasn’t played the 50-over format since lifting the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Opener Travis Head and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh haven’t been named in the 14-member squad. Both star cricketers have been granted leave on paternity grounds. This also means that youngster Jake Fraser-McGurk could get an opportunity at the top during the ODIs against Pakistan.
Matt Short has also been named in the Australian squad after he impressed selectors during the recent United Kingdom tour across the two white-ball formats.
Veteran all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is back in the squad after Cameron Green was officially ruled out of the upcoming Australian summer with a back stress fracture. Green will undergo back surgery, which will keep him out of action for at least six months.
The three-match ODI series between Australia and Pakistan will be played from November 4 to November 10. The first match will be hosted at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, followed by the second ODI in Adelaide on November 8. The final match of the three-match ODI series will be played in Perth.
After the conclusion of the ODI series, Australia and Pakistan will face each other in three T20Is from November 14 to 18.
