All-rounder Ayush Mhatre is an emerging player in Indian cricket. He has impressed everyone with his performances for the India U19 team. The 18-year-old batting all-rounder hails from Mumbai and is the current captain of India U19. He bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off-spin.

The young batter made his debut for Mumbai in domestic cricket at the age of 17. He scored his maiden first-class century in his third game in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Later, with a 181-run knock in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2024-25, he became the youngest batter to smash a 150+ score in List A cricket.

In November 2025, he became the youngest Indian batter to hammer tons in all three formats of professional cricket- First-Class, List A, and T20.

5. 3/17- Mumbai vs Hyderabad (VHT 2024-25)

During Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2024-25, Mumbai and Hyderabad locked horns on December 23 in a Group C match at Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground in Ahmedabad. After being asked to bat first, Hyderabad were bowled out for 169 runs in 38.1 overs.

In this match, Mhatre delivered his best bowling performance in List A cricket, taking three wickets for 17 runs in 4.1 overs. This spell played a crucial role in Mumbai’s victory.

4. 2/37- IND U-19 vs SL U-19 (Asia Cup 2024)

India and Sri Lanka clashed in the second semi-final of the U19 Asia Cup 2024 on December 6 in Sharjah. Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 173 runs in the first innings.

Mhatre clinched two wickets for 37 runs in his 10-over spell. Later, he also added 34 runs as an opener. India won the encounter like a walk in the park, chasing down the target by seven wickets within 22 overs.

3. 3/27 – IND U-19 vs AUS U-19 (Sept 2025)

India U19 toured Australia U19 for a Youth ODI series in September 2025. In the second game of the three-match series in Brisbane, India piled up a powerful total of 300/10 in the first innings.

Mhatre got out for a duck but made a comeback with his bowling. With three scalps for 27 runs in his four overs, he finished as the leading wicket-taker for his side. India bowled out Australia for 249 runs, winning the encounter by 51 runs.

2. 3/14- IND vs ZIM (U-19 World Cup 2026)

In the U19 Cricket World Cup 2026, India and Zimbabwe clashed on January 27 in the Super Six round. After being asked to bat first, India posted a gigantic total of 352/8 in the first innings, with Vihaan Malhotra scoring a stunning century (109*).

Later, the Men-in-Blue bundled out Zimbabwe for just 148 runs, dismissing many of their key batters for single digits. Captain Mhatre hunted three wickets for 14 runs off his four overs, lending a helping hand in bowling. Udhav Mohan also clinched a three-wicket haul, playing a key role in India’s huge victory.

On February 1, arch-rivals India and Pakistan faced each other in the ICC U19 World Cup 2026. Being asked to bat first, India were bowled out for just 252 runs with a crucial half-century by Vedant Trivedi (68). While skipper Ayush suffered a duck while batting, he bounced back with his bowling show in the second innings.

Across his eight overs, he captured three wickets for 21 runs, bowling at a superb economy of just 2.62. His teammate Khilan Patel also hunted a three-wicket haul, as India bowled out Pakistan for 194 runs to win by 58 runs.
