Azam Khan made nine runs against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in CPL 2024.
Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan is currently taking part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. The right-hander is playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW).
During his side’s match against Antigua & Barbuda Falcons (ABF), Azam Khan was involved in a bizarre dismissal.
Azam arrived at the crease as the No. 5 batter for the Warriors, who were chasing a target of 169 runs, which was set by the Barbuda Falcons. Initially, Azam looked rusty at the crease as he managed to score five runs in six balls.
In order to build more pressure, Falcons pacer Shamar Springer was recalled into the attack with wicket-keeper batter Azam on strike.
On the second ball of the 12th over, Azam got a boundary through an edge. On the next delivery, the bowler responded with a well-directed bouncer. Azam tried to pull the delivery but missed the contact with the ball completely.
The ball hit straight on Azam’s neck. The batter couldn’t maintain his balance after being struck on the neck and fell to the ground. After the ball struck the batter, it deflected and bounced on the stumps. Azam tried to stop it with his bat but only further hit his bat on the stumps.
Soon after the dismissal, the opponents rushed towards Azam to check on him. The Warriors team’s physio also had to come on the field to examine the wicket-keeper batter. Azam made nine runs in as many deliveries with one boundary.

While chasing 169, veteran batter Shai Hope scored 41 runs, which was followed by Romario Shepherd’s 32 (16) to take the Warriors over the line with three wickets in hand on the last ball of the chase.
