[Watch] Babar Azam faces humiliation! Gets bowled by retired Saeed Ajmal during exhibition match in Pakistan

Babar Azam played for Peshawar Zalmi in an exhibition match with Legends XI.

Former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is not part of the ongoing UAE T20I Tri-Series and was also not picked in the team for Asia Cup 2025 as well. With him being away from the national team setup, the right-handed batsman played an exhibition match for Peshwar Zalmi against Legends XI.

Azam led Peshawar Zalmi in the encounter, while the Legends XI comprised former Pakistan players like Younis Khan, Shoaib Akhtar and Saeed Ajmal. The exhibition match was organised to provide aid to the victims of the recent floods in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Notably, Azam played a quickfire knock of 41 runs off 23 balls in the match. However, he faced humiliation as he was cleaned bowled by retired spinner Saeed Ajmal. The video of his dismissal went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Peshwar Zalmi won the encounter by six runs in the end. Zalmi posted 144 in 14.4 overs and later managed to defend their total.

Notably, Azam last played for Pakistan during the ODI series against the West Indies earlier this month. Pakistan faced a 1-2 defeat in the three-match series, suffering a humiliating loss by 202 runs in the final ODI.

Earlier this month, Azam was not picked in Pakistan’s Asia Cup 2025 squad. He and Mohammed Rizwan were two senior players to be snubbed by selectors. Neither of them has played any T20I game since the start of this year.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will be busy with Asia Cup 2025 from September 9 to 28. They are part of Group A in the tournament alongside India, UAE, and Oman in their pool. Salman Ali Agha will lead the team in the tournament. Currently, the Men in Green are facing Afghanistan and the UAE in a T20I Tri-Series.
