Bangladesh will face New Zealand in the third and final ODI game on Tuesday in Dhaka.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is all ready to start in India in ten days. A few final series are being played just before the participating teams fly to India. One such series is underway between Bangladesh and New Zealand. Black Caps are 1-0 ahead in the three-match ODI series.

The third and final game is to be played on September 26 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. This will be the final match for both teams before heading to India, and both will look to do well and gain confidence from it. Here is predicted playing XI for Bangladesh in the third game.

BAN vs NZ: Bangladesh’s Predicted playing XI vs New Zealand

1. Najmul Hossain Shanto (c):

Litton Das and Tamim Iqbal have been rested, and the captaincy job has been given to star opener Najmul Hossain Shanto. He was in red-hot form in Asia Cup and scored 89 and 104 against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan before getting ruled out. Shanto will become the 16th player to lead his country in ODIs and will look to start off well with a win.

2. Mehidy Hasan Miraz:

After resting from the first two games, star all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be back for the third game. He will be opening the innings as he did in Asia Cup. Miraz has been a brilliant backup for Shakib Al Hasan and has done well with both the bat and the ball. He will be keen to have some game time and a good performance before heading to the World Cup.

3. Tanzid Hasan:

Tanzid Hasan looked good for his 12-ball 16 in the last game but got out in an attempt to up the ante. But he will be looking to play better this time around. Hasan got his chance after some good domestic and BPL performances. He is a confident player and will be looking to make an impact so that he can get more chances in the future.

4. Mahmudullah:

Mahmudullah was brought back into the squad for this series to add some experience in the middle-order, and he showed that in the last game. He was the top-scorer for his team and made 49 runs, with four boundaries and one six in tough conditions. Bangladesh haven't announced their World Cup squad, so Mahmudullah will look to grab that chance.

5. Towhid Hridoy:

Towhid Hridoy had a rare failure in the last game and got out cheaply. But he is coming off a great Asia Cup, where he finished the tournament with two consecutive fifties. Hridoy is an important part of Bangladesh's middle-order and has the ability to face any type of bowling attack, which makes him a versatile batter.

6. Anamul Haque:

Anamul Haque was part of the first two games but didn't get a chance, but with the final ODI, he is expected to be part of the playing XI. It is because he is a good player of spin bowling, and Bangladesh found it hard to play Ish Sodhi in the last game. Anamul is an experienced batter and knows the conditions pretty well.

7. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk):

Mushfiqur Rahim didn't play the last group match against India in Asia Cup 2023, as he went back to complete his parental duties. But he is back for the third game and will provide the much-needed support in the middle-order that Bangladesh lacked in the second game. Rahim's presence will increase Bangladesh's chances because he is a big-match player.

8. Mahedi Hasan:

Mahedi Hasan was the best bowler for Bangladesh in the last game, as he used the conditions well and picked up 3/45 with the ball. He also added a decent partnership with Mahmudullah and scored 17 runs. Hasan will be playing as a finisher with the bat, has played some good knocks in his small career, and is capable of making it big.

9. Hasan Mahmud:

Hasan Mahmud opened the bowling for Bangladesh in the second ODI and did a handy job in the powerplay. He controlled the scoring rate and didn't allow the Kiwi batters to score even in the final overs. Hasan is a great prospect to have in the team, and his team will hope for him to chip in with a few early wickets.

10. Shoriful Islam:

Shoriful Islam is also back on the team, and he will have a big role to play. Just ahead of World Cup, this will be an important game for him because he is likely to be part of World Cup squad as the third seamer in the team. Shoriful bowls a heavy ball and is a nippy bowler with his pace. He can create doubts in the batter's mind with his slower ones.

11. Taskin Ahmed:

Taskin Ahmed has replaced Mustafizur Rahman for the third and final ODI, which is an understandable decision with World Cup around the corner. Taskin has been tremendous for Bangladesh across formats and has become their leading pacer. He will be the biggest threat for New Zealand, and his presence makes Bangladesh's bowling attack formidable.
