Bangladesh name 15-men squad for 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan

Bangladesh came on top of Afghanistan in the recently concluded one-off test match.
Bangladesh have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Afghanistan. Bangladesh have called up Taskin Ahmed back in the limited-overs team after his injury break. Taskin Ahmed was also part of the Bangladesh Test squad that took on Afghanistan at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Taskin made a roaring comeback with the red ball as well and picked up 4 wickets in the second innings. Bangladesh have also registered their biggest international test victory and defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin of 546 runs. Afghanistan will come back next month to Bangladesh to play a 3-match ODI and 2-match T20 series.
Afif, Naim also back in ODI squad
Bangladesh have also recalled Afif Hussain and Mohammed Naim to strengthen their batting order. Naim will be making his comeback in the ODI squad after two years. Naim had a great outing with Abahani Ltd. in Dhaka Divisional League and has been rewarded with a place back in the ODI squad. Bangladesh have dropped Rony Talukdar, Yasir Ali, and Mrityunjay Chaudhary, from the ODI squad. They all were part of Bangladesh’s ODI series against Ireland played in Chelmsford. Taskin Ahmed is a big impactful selection for Bangladesh as the big World Cup is nearing.
Afghanistan will be coming back to Bangladesh in the first week of July to play three ODIs and 2 T20s. The first ODI will be played on 5th July at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The second ODI will be played on 8th July, and the Final ODI will be played on 11th July at the same venue. Bangladesh and Afghanistan have qualified for the World Cup directly and this series will prove crucial for both teams.
