Top 10 Bangladesh batsmen with most runs in international cricket
Only four Bangladesh batsmen have managed to score 10,000+ runs in international cricket.
Bangladesh have been one of the most improved international cricket teams in the last decade. They have slowly learned the art of dominating their conditions as well as challenging top teams in the big ICC events. They have recently done well in international cricket and introduced several great talents from their setup. Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shoriful Islam have been a wonderful find for their camp in recent years.
Apart from these, their golden generation cricketers have been top performers for their national side in the past two decades. From Mohammad Ashraful to Habibul Bashar to Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Tamim Iqbal, they have had one of the most talented sides in the game. Let’s have a look at the top 10 international run-scorers (All three formats combined) for the Bangladesh side.

10. Soumya Sarkar – 3984 runs:
Soumya Sarkar was considered one of the best and big things to happen in Bangladesh cricket, but the talented left-hander couldn’t keep his consistency going at the international level. Sarkar made his debut in December 2014 and till now he has played 154 international matches and scored 3984 runs at a modest average of 25.237. Sarkar has scored 831 runs in test matches, 1941 runs in ODIs and 1212 runs in T20I format.
9. Imrul Kayes – 4350 runs:
Former left-handed opening batter Imrul Kayes was a decent white-ball player for Bangladesh and represented his national side in 39 tests, 74 ODIs, and 14 T20I games. Kayes scored 4350 international runs in his 131-match-long career. Kayes was part of the golden generation of the young Bangladesh side that grew after the World Cup 2007 in West Indies.
8. Mominul Haque – 4500 runs:
The left-handed opening batter Mominul Haque has impressed everyone with his gritty knock on multiple occasions in tests. Mominul has been a prolific scorer for Bangladesh side in test cricket and scored almost 86% of international runs in test cricket. Mominul Haque, in his 93 international matches has scored 4500 runs for his national side, including 3883 alone in tests.
7. Habibul Bashar – 5194 runs:
Former captain Habibul Bashar is one of most respected cricketer from Bangladesh who led his team to several emphatic victories with a young team. Habibul Bashar was also a decent batter and scored 5194 international runs for his side in 161 matches. Bashar scored 3026 runs in tests and 2168 runs in ODIs. Bashar didn’t play a single T20I cricket for his national side.
6. Litton Das – 6627 runs:
Litton Das is seen as the next big thing in Bangladesh. A batter with a fearless approach has led his team to many big wins in the last few years. They almost won Asia Cup 2018 credit to his magnificent batting effort in the finals against India. Litton Das has so far scored 6627 international runs so far (2394 in tests, 2563 in ODIs, and 1670 in T20Is) in his 8-year-long career.
5. Mohammad Ashraful – 6655 runs:
Former Bangladesh skipper Mohammad Ashraful is widely remembered for his magnificent century against Australia in Cardiff in the Natwest Trophy match in 2005. Asharful is one of the greats to play cricket for Bangladesh. In his playing days he was always considered as the most talented player in their setup. Ashraful scored 6655 international runs in his 259-match-long career for his country.
4. Mahmudullah – 10384 runs:
Mahmudullah is one of the most underrated and under-utilised batter in international cricket. Mahmudullah with his consistency has made himself a crucial cog in Bangladeshi middle-order. He has so far scored 10384 runs in international cricket in 400 matches. Mahmudullah scored 2914 runs in 50 tests, 5348 runs in 229 ODIs, and 2122 runs in 121 T20I games for his national side.
3. Shakib Al Hasan – 14406 runs:
Shakib Al Hasan held the top spot in the all-rounders’ rankings for a long time and his performance in international cricket is a testimony to his good work as a middle-order batter for Bangladesh team. Shakib Al Hasan has so far scored 14406 runs in 430 international matches. Shakib has scored 4454 runs in tests, 7570 runs in ODIs, and 2382 runs in T20I cricket at an average of 34.54 in international cricket.
2. Mushfiqur Rahim – 14833 runs:
Bangladesh wicket-keeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim is second in the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in international cricket. Just like Shakib, he has also been a vital played in Bangladesh middle-order. Mushfiqur Rahim has scored 14833 runs in 458 matches. Mushfiqur Rahim is also Bangladesh’s leading run-scorer in test cricket with 5676 runs. He has 7657 runs in ODIs and 1500 runs in T20I format.
1. Tamim Iqbal – 15192 runs:
Bangladesh opening batter Tamim Iqbal is the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in international cricket. Tamim Iqbal has 15192 runs under his name in all three formats combined. He is also the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in ODIs. Tamim is the only Bangladesh batter to score more than 8000 runs in ODI cricket. Tamim has scored 8357 runs in the ODI format 5134 runs in test and 1758 runs in T20I format.
