This is a match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan on October 7 at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, which will start at 10:30 in the morning. Bangladesh will enter the game as favorites, but they can't write off Afghanistan on any given day. We will talk about the possible predicted XI for Bangladesh on Saturday against Afghan team.
BAN vs AFG: Bangladesh's Predicted playing XI vs Afghanistan
1. Tanzid Hasan :
Tanzid Hasan is likely to open the innings in the absence of Tamim Iqbal. He is the youngest in the side and also a left-hander, which will keep the left-hand and right-hand combination at the top. Tanzid hasn't started well, but he can play a brilliant supporting role for the explosive Litton Das on the other end.
2. Litton Das :
Litton Das is one of the most explosive players on Bangladeshi team. He is a juggernaut at the top and scores quickly, which puts pressure on the opposition. He has played nine games against Afghanistan and scored 378 runs at 47, which are pretty good numbers, and he can be a headache for Afghan team.
3. Najmul Hossain Shanto :
After two incredible innings in the group stage of Asia Cup, Najmul Hossain Shanto made his comeback in the third and final ODI against New Zealand and scored a fifty. The left-hander has scored two half-centuries and one hundred in his last three ODI innings, which is tremendous. He scored a hundred against Afghanistan in Asia Cup and can do the same on Saturday.
4. Shakib Al Hasan (C) :
Shakib Al Hasan is the real match-winner in the team and has been the most consistent player for them over the years. The all-rounder can win games in both departments and will be the biggest threat for Afghanistan in Dharamsala. Shakib will look to make the most of the opportunity and take his team to victory in the first game.
5. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk) :
Mushfiqur Rahim is back after missing out on a few games and his presence is a confidence booster for the team. Mushfiqur is the backbone of the middle-order for his team, and he can take the away game from any situation. He is one of the best players against spin in this team, which will help Bangladesh face Afghan spinners.
6. Towhid Hridoy :
Towhid Hridoy is another talented youngster in the team who made his international debut not too long ago and has impressed everyone. In four games against Afghanistan, he has scored 89 runs and will be looking to carry on his form. His striking ability is pretty good against pacers and spinners, and he is a floater on the team.
7. Mahmudullah :
Former Bangladeshi skipper Mahmudullah was picked in the team to add some experience in the middle- order, and he can be a perfect guy for his team. He is a brilliant finisher, has performed well over the years, and had some runs in his comeback series against New Zealand. Mahmudullah has played 10 games against Afghanistan and scored 313 runs at 44. He also has four wickets to his name.
8. Mehidy Hasan Miraz :
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is batting at No. 8, which shows the depth of the batting for Bangladesh. He is the one who smashed a hundred against Afghanistan at the top of the order when these two played in Asia Cup. Miraz is a genuine all-rounder like Shakib, and his presence gives his team the perfect balance for this big event.
9. Taskin Ahmed :
Taskin Ahmed is currently Bangladesh's premium pacer and will be the main weapon with the new ball. The right-arm pacer is among the top wicket-takers this year for his team. He will also swing and bounce in Dharamsala. Taskin has taken 19 wickets in 10 games against Afghanistan and will look to add a few more.
10. Mustafizur Rahman :
Mustafizur Rahman is the most experienced pacer in Bangladesh's team. He has done well in India and has the experience of playing in IPL. The left-arm pacer is a wicket-taker in the middle and restricts batters from scoring in the final overs, which makes him a valuable asset for the team. In seven games, Mustafizur has taken 11 wickets against Afghanistan.
11. Shoriful Islam :
Shoriful Islam is the third pacer for Bangladesh, and he is a new ball bowler along with Taskin. Shoriful has the ability to swing the new balls and bowl in the tight channel. Afghanistan's opening pair is in form, and if Shoriful can remove one or two from the top-order, Bangladesh will be on top for sure.
