Bangladesh will face Australia in match No. 43 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Saturday.

Bangladesh have had a horrible performance so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They have won only two matches and are sitting in the bottom half of the table. Bangladesh became the first team to be eliminated from the tournament. They will now face Australia in their last game of the tournament.

That will be a tough game, as Shakib Al Hasan has already been ruled out. But it will be a must-win game for Bangladesh, as they have their last chance to qualify for a place in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan. In this article, we will talk about the predicted playing XI for Bangladesh against Australia.

AUS vs BAN: Bangladesh’s Predicted playing XI vs Australia

1. Tanzid Hasan :

Tanzid Hasan has been a major disappointment for Bangladesh in this tournament. The left-hander has failed badly at the top. He was picked to replace Tamim Iqbal, but it hasn’t happened. He has only scored 109 runs in eight innings. So it is high time for him, and he will not have another choice but to perform.

2. Litton Das :

Litton Das has had a pretty decent outing so far. He has scored 248 runs at an average of 31 with two half-centuries, but not many from the top have helped him out. He is a free-flowing character who likes to take on bowling. Das will be keen to make an impact in the last game for his team on Saturday.

3. Najmul Hossain Shanto :

After a string of low scores, Najmul Hossain Shanto finally came back to his own and smashed a match-winning 90 against Sri Lanka in the last game. That knock helped his team register their second win. In Shakib’s absence, he will be leading the team on Saturday. He will feel confident after the last knock and will look to do well as captain.

4. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk) :

Mushfiqur Rahim has struggled in this tournament, which is one reason that Bangladesh have struggled in their batting department. Rahim has scored 181 runs at a below-par average of 25.85. Being the most experienced pro, he needs to take more responsibility as Shakib is not on the team and take the innings together so that his team can show some fight.

5. Mahmudullah :

Mahmudullah has done a brilliant job for his team so far in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He is the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh with 296 runs at an average of 59.20 and has scored runs in tough conditions when the top-order has failed. But without Shakib, his role will be very crucial, and he will be seen taking more responsibility because he has experience playing against them.

6. Towhid Hridoy :

Towhid Hridoy hasn’t done as per the expectations for Bangladesh. He has scored just 90 runs in five innings, but he is a capable player who can make an impact with the bat lower down the order, which is why Bangladesh are keeping him in the side. Hridoy has been among the runs off-late and will look to get some important runs for the team against Australia, which will give him confidence going ahead.

7. Mehidy Hasan Miraz :

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be the player to watch out for. Because he is a match-winner with both bat and ball. In Shakib’s absence, he is likely to bat up the order and play a crucial role with the bat. He is also wicket-taker in the middle overs, and Pune will get a turn. Mehidy has scored 172 runs so far with ten wickets with the ball.

8. Mahedi Hasan :

Mahedi Hasan is likely to replace Shakib in the playing XI because he is the one who can bowl spin, and bat. Thus, he will be back in the side. He has played two games and picked up six wickets, but has to sit out because of the senior players. Hasan bowls wicket-to-wicket, which makes him a difficult bowler to score against, and he will pose a challenge for Australians.

9. Tanzim Hasan Sakib :

Tanzim Hasan Sakib made his World Cup debut in the last game against Sri Lanka and did a great job. He picked up three wickets and showed that it was a wrong decision to sit him out. He is a canny bowler who keeps hitting the deck and bowls at a decent pace. Tanzid will be the new ball bowler, and his role will be to dismiss the batters from Australian top-order.

10. Taskin Ahmed :

Taskin Ahmed has been the best bowler for Bangladesh for the last couple of years, but he couldn’t take that form into this tournament and has struggled badly. Taskin has taken only four wickets, which is the area in which his team struggled. But he will be eyeing ending the tournament with a good match and also taking his team into the Champions Trophy.

11. Shoriful Islam :

The way Shoriful Islam has performed so far, it looks like he will be a possible threat for Australia. The left-arm pacer has taken ten wickets, and most of them have come in the powerplay. So if he can produce another good spell on Saturday, Australia will surely be under the pump because he can swing a long way with the new ball.
