Bangladesh will face the defending champions England on Tuesday in Match 7 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Bangladesh had a pretty good game in their season's opener against Afghanistan. They ticked all the boxes with both the bat and the ball and registered a comprehensive win. Bangladesh won their opening game by six wickets and with more than 15 overs to spare, which did a world of good for their NRR.

But now, they will face a massive challenge in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Bangladesh will lock horns with the defending champions England on Tuesday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. Though England lost their first game against New Zealand, they are a far superior team. So here we will talk about the predicted playing XI for Bangladesh against England.

ENG vs BAN: Bangladesh's Predicted playing XI vs England

1. Tanzid Hasan :

Tanzid Hasan got unlucky in the last game and was run out for just five runs. But Bangladesh are backing this youngster because he has come into the team after some consistent performances at the domestic level. But Tanzid will be up against England challenge, and if he can give the team a good start, his confidence will be very high.

2. Litton Das :

Litton Das is one of the most skilled openers playing in this tournament. He has looked off-color in the last few matches, but he can take on any bowling apart. His explosive starts have helped Bangladesh win many games in white-ball cricket. So his team will hope that he can make an impact on Tuesday that can put pressure on England.

3. Najmul Hossain Shanto :

Najmul Hossain Shanto has been in the form of his life. In his last three games, he has scored one century and two half-centuries and will be a big wicket against England. Even in the last game, he scored an unbeaten 59 to help Bangladesh chase the score, and he can do something similar against England on Tuesday.

4. Mehidy Hasan Miraz :

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be a player to watch out for on Tuesday. He is the biggest match-winner in the current team on the basis of his impact. Miraz can win games with both the bat and the ball. The all-rounder picked up three wickets in the last game and scored an important 57 runs when the openers got out cheaply. That is why Bangladesh's chances will depend a lot on him.

5. Shakib Al Hasan (c) :

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has done it in the past and can do it once again against England. He will be looking to take his team to a winning position to get momentum, and a win against England will boost their chances. Hence, we might see Shakib doing everything to lead his team to victory on Tuesday.

6. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk) :

Mushfiqur Rahim is as important to the middle-order as anyone else in the Bangladesh lineup. The veteran keeper has a big role in this batting line-up because he can hold the innings if quick wickets fall and also score quickly if it is required. Rahim has played against England a lot of times, will be aware of the threats, and is expected to tackle them well.

7. Towhid Hridoy :

Towhid Hridoy has consistently scored runs in this year. He has scored 518 runs in 15 innings in ODIs at an average of 37 with five half-centuries. These are very good numbers for a player who bats so deep. His role is to play quick cameos as a finisher, but he can be used as a floater in the batting line-up.

8. Mahmudullah :

Mahmudullah is batting at No. 8, which shows the great depth of this Bangladeshi batting line-up. The former captain is a brilliant player and has batted in various positions throughout his career, and him coming down the order gives the team a sense of security. Mahmudullah will be up for a challenge and can play spin and pace pretty well.

9. Taskin Ahmed :

22 wickets in just 12 ODIs in 2023 are the numbers of Taskin Ahmed for his team. He has gotten better with time and can be difficult to face for England with the new ball. The pitch in Dharamsala helps the pacers pretty much, and he can surely use those against England and take a few early wickets.

10. Shoriful Islam :

Shoriful Islam is another bowler who has done well this year. He has taken 18 wickets in nine games for Bangladesh, including 2/34 in the last game against Afghanistan. Shoriful is a very good new ball bowler and can hit the deck hard to generate bounce. England should not take him easy because he can be pretty good against right-handers.

11. Mustafizur Rahman :

Mustafizur Rahman is the evergreen bowler for his team across formats and is always a challenge for any batter in any situation of the game. His pin-point yorkers, variations, swing, and ability to bowl in the tight channel make him a complete bowler. England found it hard to play him in the warm-up match, and he can be deceptive on Tuesday as well.
