Bangladesh will face team India in the Semi-final 1 of Men's Cricket Tournament in Asian Games 2023 on Friday.

The men's cricket competition at Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou has reached the final knock-out stage. Two semi-finals and the finals will decide which team will win the gold medal in this tournament. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan made it to the top four of the tournament. Two semi-finals will be played on Friday.

Bangladesh will lock horns with India in the first semi-final at the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field, Hangzhou, on October 6. Bangladesh pulled off an exciting win by just two runs against Malaysia in the quarter-finals, but will look to improve against a strong Indian side. In this article, we will talk about the predicted playing XI for Bangladesh against India on Friday.

IND vs BAN: Bangladesh playing XI vs India

1. Jaker Ali (wk) :

Jaker Ali made an unbeaten 14 in the game against Malaysia. He is a top-order batter but batted down the order in the quarter-finals. But Jaker is a busy player who likes to rotate the strike regularly and hit the odd boundaries. That is where Indian bowlers need to stop him because he can score quickly.

2. Parvez Hossain Emon :

Parvez Hossain Emon had a poor start to his T20I career with two runs in two games, but his domestic numbers are pretty good. He is a free-flowing top-order batter who can adjust to the conditions of the pitch. Pravez missed out against Malaysia, but India cannot take him lightly on Friday.

3. Zakir Hasan :

Zakir Hasan smashed a hundred in his debut test against India in 2022, which caught the eyes of everyone. But he hasn't had many chances in the white-ball format for his country, but he is a strong candidate at the top. The left-hander can play well against pace and spin and will have a big job on his shoulder.

4. Saif Hassan (c) :

Bangladeshi skipper Saif Hassan played an important role in Bangladesh's win in the last game. His unbeaten 50 runs helped the team reach 116, which ended up being a winning total. Saif has an even bigger job now against India, but his last knock would have given him confidence to do well in the semi-finals.

5. Mahmudul Hasan Joy :

Another Bangladeshi batter who has played a handful of test matches is playing for his team. Mahmudul Hasan Joy is an elegant batter who relies on his timing. He made his debut in the last game but got out for a duck. However, Mahmudul has traveled a lot with the senior team and has enough experience to take the game deep.

6. Afif Hossain :

Afif Hossain was the reason that Bangladesh won the game against Malaysia. He had a brilliant game with both the bat and the ball. Afif scored a quick 23 off 14 and then bowled a match-winning spell with the ball. He took 3/11 in just 4 overs. India will be aware of him and his ability to change the game.

7. Rishad Hossain :

Rishad Hossain is the specialist spinner in Bangladeshi team and has a happy knack for taking wickets in the middle-overs. Being a leg-break spinner, he bowls to a very tight line and doesn't give the batter time to score, which makes him effective on any surface. Rishad will be tested against India, and if he can take a few wickets, he can be the game-changer.

8. Shahadat Hossain :

Shahadat Hossain is a handy all-rounder in the team who can hit a few big shots and can bowl useful off-spin. The Indian batters haven't seen him enough, which might end up in his favor. He will look to score some useful runs and make a contribution with the ball to help his team secure a place in the final.

9. Sumon Khan :

Sumon Khan is another all-round option that Bangladesh have. In fact, he is a medium pacer who can bowl as first-change after the power-play and can bat in any position. The left-arm bowler can be hard to face if the pitch is helpful, and his team will want him to restrict the Indian middle-order to put pressure on them.

10. Rakibul Hasan :

Rakibul Hasan is another left-arm spinner on the team that brings different varieties. He is a leg-spinner who doesn't turn the ball much, but his tight line and length make him difficult to score off. Rakibul can make a difference on fast pitches where the ball skids with the arm, and Hangzhou is one such pitch, for sure.

11. Ripon Mondol :

Ripon Mondol was the bowler who provided Bangladesh with early wickets against Malaysia. He took 3/14 in three overs, including a maiden, and helped his team defend a low total. Ripon has made his name as a swing bowler on Bangladesh domestic circuit and will look to do his basics right and remove one or two Indian batters early on to give his team an upper-hand.
