IND vs BAN: Bangladesh playing XI vs India, Match 17, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 - Predicted
Bangladesh will face India in the 17th match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Thursday in Pune.
Bangladesh started well in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 with a win over Afghanistan in their opening game. But after that, they faced consecutive defeats in their next two games at the hands of England and New Zealand respectively. With that, they are sitting on the bottom half of the table.
But their next match is even harder. Bangladesh will face the hosts, India, in match No. 17 of the competition. This game will be played at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday. Bangladesh have beaten India three times in the last four ODI games and will be confident enough to do so once again. Here we will talk about the predicted playing XI for Bangladesh against India.
IND vs BAN: Bangladesh's Predicted playing XI vs India, Match 17
1. Litton Das:
Litton Das has had an average tournament so far. He has scored 89 runs in three innings, out of which he scored 79 runs against England in a losing cause. But he has played some good knocks against India in the recent past, which will be enough for him to get momentum. He is a free-flowing opener who can attack the Indian bowlers in the power play.
2. Tanzid Hasan:
Tanzid Hasan hasn't looked in good touch so far and has scored only 22 runs in three innings. But he is quite an attacking opener and got a start against New Zealand in the last game but threw it away. But there are likely to be some final chances for him, so Bangladesh will hope he does well at the top against India.
3. Najmul Hossain Shanto:
Najmul Hossain Shanto is an important member of this lineup. He scored an unbeaten fifty in the chase against Afghanistan and has been scoring runs in the last few games. His ability to play well against the spinners makes him an important player, and his role will be to take the innings in the middle overs.
4. Mehidy Hasan Miraz:
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is a key member with both the bat and the ball for Bangladesh. He is a genuine all-rounder who can extract help from the pitch in Pune. Then, he can change the match situation with the bat as well. Hasan has scored 95 runs and taken three wickets so far in this tournament and will be the player to watch out for.
5. Shakib Al Hasan (C):
Shakib Al Hasan is the player who will have a major role if Bangladesh need to challenge the hosts in Pune. The captain will be the key in both departments. Though there was some news of his injury, Bangladesh management has confirmed that Shakib would play against India. Shakib's impact can put India under pressure, and that's what he will be looking to do.
6. Mushfiqur Rahim (WK):
Mushfiqur Rahim is the highest scorer for Bangladesh in this tournament. He has scored 119 runs in three innings at an average of 59.50 and is the most important batter in this middle order. With his loads of experience Rahim will be a big wicket because he can take Bangladesh away from any situation as he has done over the years.
7. Towhid Hridoy:
Towhid Hridoy scored a brilliant half-century against India when Bangladesh beat India in the Asia Cup 2023. He can make a similar impact this time around and will have an important role in the lower order. His presence helps the team add some valuable runs at the back end, and he can be pretty dangerous in the final overs of the innings.
8. Mahmudullah:
The veteran all-rounder Mahmudullah batting at No. 8 shows the depth of Bangladesh's batting. He is a proven customer and has won many games for his team as a finisher. Even in the last game against New Zealand, he scored an unbeaten 41, which helped Bangladesh reach a respectable total. So India will have in mind his ability, and he can come out of nowhere to score some quick runs.
9. Taskin Ahmed:
Taskin Ahmed is Bangladesh's main weapon with the new ball. But he has looked off-color so far with two wickets in three innings. But the pacer can create doubts in the batter's mind with the new ball. His main role will be to remove a couple of Indian batters from the top order who are doing the bulk of scoring for the team.
10. Shoriful Islam:
Shoriful Islam has had some good performances in this tournament so far. He has taken five wickets in three games and troubled the batters with his left-arm angle. Indian top order and a tendency to find it hard against a quality left-arm and Shoriful can be a surprise package for them as not many have played him.
11. Mustafizur Rahman:
Mustafizur Rahman has everything to be a match-winner in the coming game. He has good numbers against India in this format and can be a nippy bowler. He can bowl at speed, and his change-ups are hard to pick. Then, his angle, swing, and yorkers can trouble any batter in the world. Indian batters will look to play him well because he can take wickets at any stage of the match.
