Bangladesh are placed in Group C in ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh Cricket Team have announced their squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have named a 15-member squad, which will be captained by Litton Das, and Mohammed Saif Hassan has been named as his deputy.
The Asian side has selected a good combination of young and experienced members. Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed will play a leading role in the pace department, while Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain are the frontline spinners.
The responsibility of batting will heavily depend upon captain Das, Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tawhid Hridoy. What came as a shock was Bangladesh have dropped Jaker Ali, who captained the team in Asia Cup 2025 in the absence of Das.
Bangladesh will aim for their maiden title in the tournament. They have been part of every edition of the T20 World Cup so far, but have never reached the semi-finals or beyond.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will commence on February 7 and will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. A total of 20 teams are part of the tournament, which will follow the format like the previous edition. India, who will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav, are the defending champions.
Bangladesh are placed in Group C in T20 World Cup 2026 alongside England, West Indies, Italy, and Nepal. They will play their opening game of the group stage against West Indies on February 7 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
It will be followed by clashes against Italy on February 9, England on February 14, and Nepal on February 17. Later, two teams from their group will qualify for the Super 8 round. The tournament will conclude with the final on March 8.
