Bangladesh finished seventh in the WTC 2023-25 standings.
On Saturday, March 8, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the schedule for upcoming two -match home test series against Zimbabwe.
This will be Zimbabwe’s first test tour to Bangladesh since 2019. Their last encounter in Bangladesh took place in Mirpur, where Bangladesh emerged victorious by an innings and 106 runs in the only test.
Earlier, Bangladesh finished seventh in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle with 45 points and PCT of 31.25 in 12 games. Zimbabwe, on the other hand, recently suffered 0-1 series defeats against Afghanistan and Ireland in test cricket.
Zimbabwe’s tour of Bangladesh 2025 test series schedule:
Zimbabwe’s 2025 test tour of Bangladesh will begin with the first test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from April 20, followed by the second test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from April 28.
Bangladesh recently faced criticism for their lackluster performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, failing to win any of their group-stage matches. It remains to be seen whether the selectors will opt for experienced players or use this series to try out new faces in the test setup.
The two teams last faced each other in the longest format back in July 2021, where Bangladesh emerged victorious by 220 runs in Harare.
1st Test – 20 – 24 April, SICS, Sylhet
2nd Test – 28 April – 02 May, ZACS, Chattogram
