Bangladesh Women were to play three ODIs and three T20Is in India in December.
The upcoming tour of the Bangladesh Women’s cricket team to India, which was to happen in December, has been postponed, ESPNCricinfo reported.
As part of the ICC’s upcoming tour schedule, the series was supposed to be India’s final series prior to the commencement of the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 and the only series between the WPL and their successful ODI World Cup campaign.
The ODIs were scheduled to begin the new cycle of the Women’s ODI Championship for both teams, and the matches were scheduled to take place in Kolkata and Cuttack.
A Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) representative told ESPNcricinfo on Tuesday that the board has received a letter from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stating that the white-ball series will be rescheduled.
BCCI official confirms postponement of Bangladesh women’s tour of India

The Bangladeshi women’s tour of India, which was scheduled for December and included three ODIs and three T20Is, has been postponed, a BCCI official confirmed. Although it is unclear if the two cricket boards will formally adopt this stance, it is known that the current diplomatic difficulties between the two governments are the cause.
“The series hasn’t received the clearance,” a BCCI official told Hindustan Times.
The series’s specific dates and venues have not been confirmed. It is understood that the series was in trouble even before Monday, when a Bangladesh tribunal court sentenced the country’s former prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, to death.
In August, the Indian men’s white-ball series in Bangladesh was also rescheduled until September 2026. At the time, a BCCI statement cited “international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams” as reasons for the postponement.
Earlier this year, the India men’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh, originally slotted for August 2025, was pushed to September 2026.
“This decision has been reached following discussions between the two boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams,” the BCCI had said in a statement at the time.
“The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course,” a statement from BCB read.
