Holding the record of the fourth-highest individual test score (374), Jayawardene played countless match-winning knocks at home on turning pitches. He finished with 11814 runs in his test career. Jayawardene played 81 tests at home and scored 7167 runs at an average of 59.72, with 23 centuries and 34 half-centuries. His highest test score of 374 also came at home.
3. Sachin Tendulkar (India) – 7216 runs

2. Joe Root (England) – 7329 runs

Root has so far played 158 tests and scored 13543 runs. Out of these, 84 tests and 7329 runs came at home. Root has scored 24 test hundreds at home, which is also the most by a batter in home tests.
