The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is now India’s premier cricket venue. Inaugurated in 2021, the ground has already hosted mega events including the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and the Indian Premier League.
The stadium has a seating capacity of 1,32,000, making it the world’s largest cricket venue, surpassing the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). It hosted its first international matches in 2021.

5. Chris Woakes – 4/54 vs Australia, 2023
Seamer Chris Woakes took four wickets in England’s league-stage match against Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup in Ahmedabad.
Bowling first on a slow pitch, Woakes’ four-for helped England hold down Australia to 286 runs. His wickets included key strikes of David Warner and Travis Head.
Despite Woakes’ efforts, England lost the game by 33 runs.
4. Yuzvendra Chahal – 4/49 vs West Indies, 2022
Known for the art of deceiving batsmen through flight and pace variation, Yuzvendra Chahal recorded bowling figures of 4/49 against West Indies in an ODI in 2022.
Bowling first, Chahal’s brilliant spell helped India bowl out the West Indies for 176 runs. He took some key wickets, including Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard.
India ultimately won the game by six wickets with 22 overs to spare.
3. Gerald Coetzee – 4/44 vs Afghanistan, 2023
Gerald Coetzee burst onto the scene with his impressive performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The South African pacer took 4/44 against Afghanistan in their league stage encounter in Ahmedabad.
His spell helped the Proteas reduce Afghanistan to 116/6 before bowling them out for 244. Thanks to his efforts, South Africa comfortably won the game by five wickets.
2. Jason Holder – 4/34 vs India, 2022
Former West Indies captain Jason Holder led the bowling attack in the third ODI of West Indies’ tour of India 2022 in Ahmedabad.
Bowling first, the visitors restricted India to 265 runs. Holder took 4/34, cleaning up the tail by taking the last four wickets for just 25 runs. However, West Indies lost the game by 96 runs.
1. Prasidh Krishna – 4/12 vs West Indies, 2022
Speedster Prasidh Krishna holds the record for the best bowling figures in ODI cricket at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Defending a 238-run target, Prasidh dismantled the West Indies batting lineup in the second ODI of the 2022 series.
His bowling figures of 4/12 helped India win by 44 runs. He was named Player of the Match for his efforts.
