BBL 2023-24: Playoff result, most runs and most wickets after Qualifier HEA vs SIX

Sydney Sixers defeated Brisbane Heat in BBL 2023-24 Qualifier and secured their place in the BBL final.

Sydney Sixers Ben Dwarshuis rattled Brisbane Heat batting and took his side into the finals of BBL 2023-24. Sydney Sixers have qualified for the finals after defeating Brisbane Heat by a massive 39 runs margin in Carrara. Left-arm pacer Ben Dwarshuis bowled a brilliant spell in the middle overs and picked up five wickets for Sixers. Heat will have one more opportunity left in BBL 2023-24 as they will be playing in the Challengers and aim for a spot in the big finals on 24th January.

Batting first, Sydney Sixers posted 152 runs in 20 overs. Captain Moises Henriques (59) and opener Daniel Hughes (42) both played match-winning knocks for their side. They both added 94 runs for the third wicket and took their side to a comfortable total on a tough batting wicket. Brisbane Heat collapsed like a pack of card after a solid start in the powerplay. Sixers restricted Brisbane Heat on just 113 runs.

BBL 2023-24: Playoffs result

Sydney Sixers have secured their place in the BBL 2023-24 finals after defeating Brisbane Heat in the Qualifier game played in Carrara. Sydney bowlers ran through Heat’s batting-order and defeated them convincingly. Brisbane Heat will have one more opportunity left to play in Challenger game. Heat will take on the winners of Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers game which is scheduled on Saturday at Optus Stadium in Perth. Challenger will be played on Monday.

BBL 2023-24: Most Runs

Adelaide Strikers skipper Mathew Short is currently leading the top run-scorer chart with 509 runs. Short was the most consistent player in the ongoing BBL 2023-24 season. Perth Scorchers Aaron Hardie is second with 328 runs. Strikers’ Chris Lynn is third on the table with 304 runs. Perth Scorchers Laurie Evans is fourth on the list with 292 runs. Melbourne Stars opener Beau Webster is at fifth place with 262 runs. There was not major change in the top five run-scorer list after the end of Qualifier.

Brisbane Heat’s Xavier Bartlett continues to lead the top wicket-taker tally with 17 wickets. Bartlett got one wicket against Sixers in Carrara. Sydney Sixers Ben Dwarshuis is now fifth with 15 wicket, he took five wickets against Brisbane Heat. Adelaide Strikers Jamie Overton is third on the table with 16 wickets. Perth Scorchers’ left-arm pacer Jason Behrendorff is fourth with 13 wickets in seven games. Brisbane Heat’s Paul Walter is fifth with 15 wickets, Walter picked up two wickets against Sydney Sixers in the Qualifier game.
