Melbourne Stars beat Adelaide Strikers to record their second win of the BBL 2025-26.

Captain Matthew Short’s hard-fought fifty couldn’t help Adelaide Strikers as they suffered a defeat in match 10 of the Big Bash League 2025-26 against Melbourne Stars. From the toss to the result, nothing went in their favor, and Marcus Stoinis and co. completely outplayed them.

It began with Stoinis winning the toss and putting the Strikers to bat first. They lost two wickets in the second over of the innings.

After that, they had a little partnership of 55 runs between Short and Liam Scott (25 off 19). Short scored 56 off 42 balls, and Adelaide Strikers finished at 155/8 in the first innings.

Tom Curran (3/35) and Haris Rauf (3/28) took three wickets each. Chasing the target, Melbourne Stars had a flying opening stand of 67 runs in seven overs. Sam Harper scored 55 off 36 balls and was well supported by Joe Clarke (23 off 19) and Campbell Kellaway (28 off 22). Captain Marcus Stoinis took the Stars to a 6-wicket win with an unbeaten 32 off 22 balls.

Melbourne Stars were second on the points table before this game. But a win on Tuesday helped them replace the Hobart Hurricanes from the top spot. On the other hand, Adelaide Strikers, who were in fifth place, have suffered a hit to their NRR and slipped to sixth place

Sydney Sixers and Perth Scorchers are third and fourth with two points each. Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat are fifth and seventh on the table. With an NRR of -1.331, Melbourne Renegades are at the bottom of the points table.

Top five batsmen with the most runs after match 10 of BBL 15

The game played on Tuesday did not bring about any changes to the list of the top five highest run-scorers in BBL 15. Sydney Thunder’s Josh Philippe has been superb and is at the top with 170 runs in three innings.

Brisbane Heat’s Matt Renshaw is next with 163 runs in three innings. Ben McDermott, Cooper Connolly, and Tim Seifert are next on the list.
