BBL: Who are the owners of each team in Big Bash League?

Eight city-based franchises lock horns in the Big Bash League (BBL).
The Big Bash League (BBL) is among the most entertaining and exciting franchise T20 tournaments, which takes place in Australia every year. The tournament commenced witnessed its first edition in 2011-12 and so far 14 editions have taken place with 15th underway.
BBL, which is conducted and managed by Cricket Australia (CA), observes two different tournaments for men and women. The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) started in the year 2015 and observed its 11th edition in 2025.
A total of eight franchises participate in both men’s and women’s tournaments in the BBL. They are Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers, and Sydney Thunder.
Sydney Sixers won the maiden edition of the men’s BBL in the 2011-12 season, crushing Perth Scorchers in the final. But, Scorchers are the most successful side in the tournament’s history, with five titles in their kitty (Till 2024-25 edition).
Sydney Thunder were the first winners of WBBL in the 2015-16 edition. The latest edition, WBBL 2025-26, saw Hobart Hurricanes winning the title. Four teams (Sydney Sixers, Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, and Sydney Thunder) have won two titles each over the years (till the 2025-26 edition).
Who are the owners of each team in Big Bash League?

All eight franchises are owned and controlled by Cricket Australia (CA). However, they lease out these city-based teams to their respective State Cricket Associations through long-term license agreements.
There are six state cricket associations in Australia- South Australian Cricket Association, Queensland Cricket, Cricket Tasmania, Cricket Victoria, Western Australian Cricket Association, and Cricket New South Wales. Below are the details of the owners of each franchise of the BBL.
