BCCI announces ticketing partner for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

BCCI has also announced pre-sale for the Mastercard users for upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the ticket partner for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. India will host the 13th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 10 of its cities in October and November. The ticket sales are about to go online next week, and the BCCI has now announced ‘BookMyShow’ as their official ticketing partner for the tournament. BookMyShow is India’s premier entertainment destination. The tournament is set to begin on September 29 with warm-up games in Guwahati, Trivandrum, and Hyderabad. The main event will begin on the 5th of October, and the final will be played on the 19th of November in Ahmedabad.

Earlier, the ICC asked fans seeking online tickets to register on the website before proceeding further to purchase tickets. BCCI wants a seamless and comprehensive ticketing experience for fans while booking their tickets. The sale process for this iconic tournament will be introduced in a series of carefully managed phases. The initial phase entails an exclusive 24-hour window designated exclusively for ICC’s commercial partner, ‘Mastercard’. The tournament will be played for 52 days, including the warm-up games, before the main round begins with 10 qualified teams.

BCCI looks for seamless process

After this announcement, BCCI’s interim CEO Hemang Amin said, “As we approached the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, a pinnacle event in this year’s international calendar, we were thrilled to unveil BookMyShow as the ticketing platform. The commencement of online ticket sales marks a pivotal moment in the lead-up to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. With unwavering confidence, we anticipate a seamless ticketing experience aimed at offering fans unobstructed access to the thrilling on-field encounters. A total of 58 matches will be held in the tournament, with 10 warm-up games and 48 main event games across 12 venues.

The ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled to officially begin on October 5, with defending champions England taking on New Zealand at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. Most anticipated clash of the tournament India vs Pakistan will be played at the same venue on October 14. The semi-finals will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata, respectively, on November 15th and 16th. The final is scheduled for November 19 in Ahmedabad. Other than Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata, other centres are Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad (warm-up included), Bangalore, Delhi, Dharamshala, and Pune. Guwahati and Trivandrum will host warm-up games along with Hyderabad.
