BCCI central contracts 2024-25: List of players who have been dropped

BCCI have kept four players in Grade A+ category.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, April 21, 2025, announced the central contracts for the senior men’s Indian Cricket Team for the 2024-25 season. There are four types of contracts handed by the BCCI to senior men’s Indian Cricket Team – Grade A+, Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C.
Players in the Grade A+ category receive INR 7 crores annually, while Grade A players get INR 5 crores. The Grade B players get INR 3 crores, while Grade C players get INR 1 crore per year. There are four players in the top A+ Grade.
They are Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja. Similarly, there are six players in the A Grade, five players in the B Grade, and 19 players in the C Grade. While seven new players have been added to the BCCI central contracts 2024-25, nine players from the previous list of retainership have been dropped.
The seven new additions to the BCCI central contracts for the 2024-25 season are Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakravarthy, and Harshit Rana. All these players impressed with their fabulous performances in recent times. Some of them also made their national debut last year.
However, nine players were part of the contracts last year and could not make it to the list this time. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who announced his retirement from international cricket last year, is one of the members.
Shockingly, Shardul Thakur is another player to be dropped from the side. He was a regular part of the national side across all three formats for the last few years. Below is the complete list of all Indian players dropped from BCCI central contracts for the 2024-25 season.
