BCCI contracts 2024-25: List of players with grade A contracts

The Grade A BCCI contracts are worth INR 5 crores per year.

The updated list of senior men’s Indian Cricket Team for central contracts for the 2024–25 season was revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on April 21, 2025. On Monday, the BCCI awarded central contracts to 34 Indian players, applicable from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

The core contract lists of the BCCI are divided into four categories: A+, A, B, and C. While recent debutants across formats receive a C grade, all-format regulars receive an A+ rating. A+ grade retainer fees is ₹7 crores, whilst A, B, and C grade retainer fees are ₹5 crores, ₹3 crores, and ₹1 crore respectively.

List of players with grade A contracts

The Grade A BCCI central contract is worth INR 5 crores per year, and the players included in this grade for the 2024-25 season contracts are Mohammed Siraj, Mohammad Shami, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant.

While Siraj, Shami, Gill, and Hardik Pandya were retained in the Grade A list, Rishabh Pant received a promotion from Grade B to Grade A. Rishabh Pant, who was demoted to group B during the 2023–24 season because he was recovering from a life-threatening accident, is back in the A category as he replaces the now retired Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mohammed Shami was retained in Grade A as well, despite missing 18 months of cricket as he recovered from an ankle and a knee injury. Mohammed Siraj was snubbed from India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad but remains a key figure for India across all three formats.

Shubman Gill is seen as a future India captain and was named the vice-captain for the ICC Champions Trophy as well. He is expected to play opener in limited overs formats, while he bats at No. 3 for India in tests. Hardik Pandya, the former T20I captain, remains in the Grade A spot, as he only plays in ODIs and T20Is, with no plans to return for the test format.
