India Women beat South Africa Women by 52 runs in the final to win ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.

India Women Cricket Team inscribed their name in the record books after winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. crushed South Africa Women by 52 runs in a nail-biting final on Sunday, November 2 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.

India Women, who booked a berth in the final after defeating defending champions Australia Women in the semi-finals, arrived with another spectacular show to overpower South Africa in the summit clash. After being asked to bat first, they piled up 298/7 with half-centuries by Shafali Verma (87) and Deepti Sharma (58).

In the chase, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt (101) hammered an impeccable century to put the Proteas in a dominating position. However, after her dismissal in the 42nd over, South Africa could not hold their ground for long and were eventually bowled out for 246 runs.

After the win, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also announced a cash prize of Rs. 51 crore for Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. The streets of Navi Mumbai and some other Indian cities were filled with fans after India Women’s victory as they celebrated their achievement. Now, many fans are also curious if there will be a victory parade for India Women, similar to one organised for the Indian Men’s Cricket Team after their victory in ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

During a conversation with IANS, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said that there are no plans for a victory parade as of now. However, he also added that a discussion about the victory parade will take place after the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) meeting. The ICC meeting will take place from November 4-7 in Dubai.

“Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now. I’m leaving for Dubai to attend the ICC meeting. Several officials are heading there as well, so once we return, we will plan accordingly,” Saikia said.

Notably, BCCI are going to take up the matter of Asia Cup 2025 trophy during the ICC meeting. The Suryakumar Yadav & Co. were denied the trophy after their victory against Pakistan in the final in Dubai.
