BCCI to renovate stadiums and facilities before ICC Cricket World Cup 2023

India will host the ICC Cricket World Cup in October-November this year.

India is set to host Cricket’s biggest tournament in October this year. The BCCI will be hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup after 12 years. The BCCI is now planning to renovate its cricket stadiums in the next few months. ICC Cricket World Cup will be hosted on 12 different major grounds in India. Along with big metro cities, Indore, Lucknow, Guwahati, Dharamshala, Ahmedabad, and Rajkot will also host games in the World Cup. Earlier in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy fans had complained about facilities at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in New Delhi.

BCCI to correct everything before Multi-national tournament

Fans involvement has made this game bigger and more profitable for the BCCI and ICC. BCCI is the richest governing body in the World. BCCI has now taken cognizance of fans complaints and taken action before an all important Multi-national tournament. In Delhi, Fans complained about the cleanliness of the toilets. Often we also see visuals of fans gathering to collect their tickets, Police actions have been taken due to rush in multiple cities. BCCI will also look to take the correct steps in that area.

According to the media reports Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Mohali, Hyderabad, and Indore have been picked in GAP Assessment by the BCCI. In recent times, Grounds like Lucknow’s Ekana, and Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium have earned the tag of ideal facilities to host any game. There will be a huge amount being spent on various cricket grounds. According to a media report, Delhi Stadium renovation will cost around 100 Crore, 117 Crore for Hyderabad, and 127 Crore for the Eden Gardens.

ICC Cricket World Cup will start on the 5th of October and the final will be played on the 19th of November. The Tournament will have 1992 and 2019's format in play where all the teams will play one match against each others and the top four will be playing the semi-finals. England is the defending champion of the tournament. They won the previous edition by defeating New Zealand in a dramatic final.
