Rishabh Pant looked in immense pain after he was hit on the fingertips.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided an official update on the Indian Cricket Team vice-captain Rishabh Pant following his injury. The third game of the five-match series against the England Cricket Team is underway at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

India suffered a major injury scare after Rishabh Pant got hurt on the left hand while keeping. In the 34th over of the innings, the keeper-batter got hit on the fingertips as he attempted to catch the ball from Jasprit Bumrah.

Immediately after he got hit, Pant looked in immense pain and even after the treatment from physios, his pain didn’t go. He went off the field and Dhruv Jurel came as a concussion substitute and there was no signs of Pant.

However, BCCI came up with the update on Pant. The governing body said that the keeper-batter is receiving the treatment and is under the supervision of the medical team.

“Team India vice-captain Rishabh Pant got hit on his left index finger. He is receiving treatment at the moment and is under the supervision of the medical team. Dhruv Jurel is currently keeping wickets in Rishabh’s absence.” the official statement read.

However, in what was a positive development, Nasser Hussain via the Indian dressing room said:

“Rishabh Pant’s finger injury is not serious. He’s currently icing the finger and there’s no major concern.”

Even after the tea, Dhruv Jurel walked out with the gloves and it could well be an indication that Pant might not come out on the field for the entire day. The team management would be hoping that Pant gets fit as soon as possible as he will be key with the bat for India.
