Josh Hazlewood produced a match-winning performance against India at the Adelaide Oval in December 2020.
Replying to India’s tally of 244 runs, Australia were bowled out for 191 runs in their first innings. With his side trailing by 53 runs, Hazlewood produced a sensational display, picking up 5/8, including the key wickets of Ajinkya Rahane and Mayank Agarwal.
Hazlewood’s magical spell helped Australia bundle out India for only 36 runs. The hosts then won the game by eight wickets.

Hazlewood showcased his elite prowess with the ball in hand during the Hobart test of South Africa’s 2016 tour of Australia. After posting just 85 runs in their first innings, Australia’s bowling attack, led by Josh Hazlewood, dismissed the Proteas for 326 runs.
Hazlewood starred for the hosts, recording figures of 6/89, including the dismissals of Hashim Amla and Faf Du Plessis. However, another batting collapse in Australia’s second innings led to their defeat by an innings and 80 runs.
2. 6/70 vs New Zealand, 2015, Adelaide
Hazlewood’s second-best innings bowling figures in test cricket are 6/70, which he recorded against New Zealand at Adelaide in 2015 in the first-ever day-night test match.
Hazlewood, after taking three wickets in New Zealand’s first innings, ran through the Kiwi batting order in their second innings with a six-wicket haul to restrict the visitors to 202 runs.
The lanky pacer’s exceptional spell included important wickets of Tom Latham and Ross Taylor. Australia won the test by three wickets. Hazlewood was named Player of the Match for picking up nine wickets in the game.
