Three bowlers have picked five-wicket hauls in ICC WTC finals.
The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) has observed three editions since its inception in 2019. Nine top test-playing nations battle for the test mace during the tournament, which is played over a period of two years. Every team plays six bilateral series during each ICC WTC cycle.
Kane Williamson-led New Zealand won the maiden edition of the ICC WTC (2019-21) by defeating India in the summit clash by eight wickets. In the next edition (2021-23), the Pat Cummins-led Australian team handed a 209-run defeat to India in the final to clinch the title. In the third edition ICC WTC (2023-25), South Africa and Australia played the finals at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Some bowlers have brought their best and have displayed an incredible show in the ICC WTC finals to help their team dominate the opposition. Among the top five best bowling figures in the ICC WTC finals, two bowlers each from Australia and New Zealand are part of the list. Out of them, three captured five-wicket hauls as well.

5. Tim Southee (New Zealand) – 4/48
In the ICC WTC 2019-21 final, former New Zealand pacer Tim Southee picked up a four-wicket haul against India. The right-arm pacer could only get one wicket in the first innings; however, he later returned with four wickets for 48 runs in the second innings.
His magnificent spell helped New Zealand bundle out India for just 170 in the second innings and set themselves an achievable target of 139 runs. The Kiwis eventually won the game by eight wickets.
4. Nathan Lyon (Australia)- 4/41
Australia spinner Nathan Lyon bags the fourth spot on this list with his bowling figures of 4/41 against India during the ICC WTC 2021-23 final. The right-arm off-spinner rocked with his bowling show to demolish the Rohit Sharma-led India for just 234 in the second innings while chasing a mammoth 444-run target. Lyon stole five wickets in the entire match, picking up one scalp earlier in the first innings.
3. Kagiso Rabada (South Africa)- 5/51

Kagiso Rabada is the only South African bowler on this list. The Proteas pacer clinched five wickets for 51 runs in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final against Australia. After SA skipper Temba Bavuma opted to bowl first, Rabada dominated the Australian batters in the first innings to bundle out the opposition for just 212.
2. Kyle Jamieson (New Zealand)- 5/31
Kyle Jamieson was the first bowler to clinch a fifer in a WTC final. During New Zealand’s clash against India in ICC WTC 2019-21 final, the Kiwi pacer clinched five scalps for just 31 runs to dismantle the Virat Kohli-led Indian team for 217 runs in the first innings.
His brilliant spell helped his team set the platform for victory. Later, the right-arm pacer returned with two more wickets in the second innings to win Player of the Match award.
1. Pat Cummins (Australia)- 6/28

Australia test captain Pat Cummins steals the top spot on this list with his fabulous show in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final. In the first innings, the right-arm pacer clinched six wickets for just 28 runs to wrap up the Proteas’ batting for just 138, in response to Australia’s 212. With his spectacular bowling show, Cummins helped his team gain a 74-run lead.
