Top 5 best bowling figures in WPL

Only one bowler has taken a six-wicket haul in the WPL.
Starting in 2023, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been a major success. The league has provided an ideal platform for emerging Indian women’s cricketers to share the field with established superstars.
The tournament has also generated fan interest in women’s cricket, with several IPL franchises investing in the division. Over its brief history, the competition has seen several bowlers leading their teams to remarkable wins.

5. Kim Garth – 5/36 vs UP Warriorz, 2023, Brabourne
Australian speedster Kim Garth delivered a monumental performance for Gujarat Giants in their league stage match against UP Warriorz in WPL 2023 at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Defending 169, Garth kept the Giants in the contest with a brilliant spell of 5/36 in her quota of four overs. She dismissed all of the Warriorz’s top four batters, including Alyssa Healy.
Despite her efforts, Gujarat Giants lost the game by three wickets with a ball to spare.
4. Tara Norris – 5/29 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 2023, Brabourne
Tara Norris registered a five-wicket haul against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in WPL 2023.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals posted a massive total of 223 runs, thanks to Shafali Verma’s 84 off 45 balls. Defending the target, Norris starred for the Capitals with a spell of 5/29, which included the crucial wicket of Ellyse Perry.
She was named Player of the Match for guiding DC to a 60-run win.
3. Asha Sobhana – 5/22 vs UP Warriorz, 2024, Bengaluru
Leg spinner Asha Sobhana picked up five wickets in WPL 2024 against UP Warriorz in Bengaluru.
Defending 157, Asha brought Royal Challengers Bengaluru back into the game with a brilliant spell of 5/22 in her quota of four overs. What makes her feat special is that all her wickets were from the top six batters of the UP Warriorz lineup.
Thanks to Asha’s brilliance, RCB won the nail-biting game by two runs.
2. Marizanne Kapp – 5/15 vs Gujarat Giants, 2023, DY Patil Stadium
Marizanne Kapp’s exceptional spell of 5/15 came against Gujarat Giants in the league stage game of WPL 2023. Bowling first, Delhi Capitals had a challenging task of restricting Gujarat’s explosive batting lineup to as low a score as possible.
Kapp’s masterclass restricted the Giants to 105 runs. Her victims included big names like Laura Wolvaardt and Ashleigh Gardner.
Delhi ultimately won the game comfortably by ten wickets. Kapp was named Player of the Match for her five-for.
1. Ellyse Perry – 6/15 vs Mumbai Indians, 2024, Delhi
Regarded as one of the greatest women cricketers, Ellyse Perry holds the record for the best bowling figures in the WPL history. She registered figures of 6/15 in a league stage game of WPL 2024 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians in Delhi.
Her brilliance helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowl out Mumbai for just 113 runs in the first innings. Her tally included the key scalps of Harmanpreet Kaur and Amelia Kerr.
RCB won the game by seven wickets.
