Best combined playing 11 of Super 8 round of T20 World Cup 2026 ft. Sanju Samson & Sahibzada Farhan

There were several incredible performances by players with both bat and ball in the Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026.

Plenty of match-winning outings for some of the best players in the competition have lit up the T20 World Cup 2026. Every team needs individuals who can put their hands up when the team needs them the most.

What separates good from the best is how players can handle pressure. While some players have managed to consistently perform across the Super 8, others have produced blinders and single handedly led their team to victory. In this article, we will take a look at the 11 best performers in Super 8 stage of T20 World Cup 2026.

Best XI of Super 8 performers of T20 World Cup 2026

1. Sanju Samson (wk)

Sanju Samson repaid the trust and belief shown in him by the Indian management with a sensational innings of 97 not out against West Indies. In a virtual quarter-final, the Keralite became the first Indian keeper to score a half-century in a T20 World Cup run-chase.

With wickets falling around him, Samson ensured to stay till the end and ended up hitting the winning runs to lead India to their highest T20 World Cup run-chase.

2. Sahibzada Farhan

Pakistan might have failed to qualify for the semi-finals, but Sahibzada Farhan was one of the best batters of the competition. He single-handedly carried Pakistan’s batting in the T20 World Cup. Against England, he scored 63 off 45 balls including seven sixes and two fours.

Farhan then smashed his second T20I century against Sri Lanka, off just 59 balls, and also broke Virat Kohli’s record for most runs by a player in a single season of the T20 World Cup.

3. Harry Brook (c)

England skipper Harry Brook surprisingly promoted himself to No. 3, a move which worked wonders. Brook led his team to a superb chase of 165 against Pakistan, on a tricky wicket. He took the spinners and pacers to cleaners, and almost single-handedly aced the chase.

His century off 50 balls is easily the best of the T20 World Cup so far, and will go down in history as one of the greatest ever. His captain’s innings helped England secure a place in the semi-finals.

4. Sikandar Raza

Zimbabwe might not have had a great time in the Super 8, but Sikandar Raza, continued to impress. He smashed 131 runs and took 4 wickets in tough conditions, including three wickets and a splendid 73 off 43 against South Africa. He has been Zimbabwe’s one-man army in most situations.

5. David Miller

David Miller led South Africa’s charge against India to stun to hosts and defending champion. Coming in early with team under pressure, Miller led the counter-attack against India’s best spinner in Varun Chakravarthy. The ‘Killer Miller’ back in-form is formidable news for the rest of the teams as the semi-finals approaches.

6. Will Jacks

Will Jacks has been England’s MVP this season. Not many would have expected England to not lose a single game in the Super 8, and they have Jacks to thank. Everytime his team has been put under pressure, Jacks has delivered with either bat or ball.

In a low-scoring clash against Sri Lanka, Jacks provided the impetus at the end with a quick 21 which helped England cross 145. With the ball, he emerged as the hero, clinching three wickets and leading his side to a clinical win. Against Pakistan, he was the only batter to stitch a partnership with Brook.

And his most important contribution came against New Zealand. After claiming two wickets including those of Finn Allen and Glenn Phillips, Jacks hammered 32 off 18 balls to lead his team to a victory out of no where.

Irrespective of England’s fate in the competition, Will Jacks has certainly been the most valuable player of the T20 World Cup 2026.

7. Dasun Shanaka

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka had a poor competition, like his team. They were eliminated and played their final match against Pakistan for pride. With yet another top-order collapse, the Lankans seemed to go down without a fight.

However the skipper played an incredible knock of 76* runs from just 31 balls, scoring at a strike rate of 245. Shanaka smashed three sixes and one four off Shaheen Shah Afridi when 28 was required from the last over, but failed to connect in the next two balls, as his knock eventually went in vain.

This was one of the best innings played in a losing cause. Despite the defeat, Shanaka’s cameo ensured Pakistan were eliminated from the tournament.

8. Jason Holder

Every playing 11 needs a player like Jason Holder who can provide explosive finishing touches with the bat at the end, and bowl yorkers with the ball. Against South Africa, Holder used his experience to produce an incredible innings of 49 from 31. He also smashed 37 (22), and picked 4 wickets during the Super 8 phase.

9. Adil Rashid

Adil Rashid was back at his best for England, as he produced economical spells to keep the opposition in check. Rashid went for just 13 runs in the match vs Sri Lanka, and picked two wickets. He ended the Super 8 with five wickets, and will look to continue his form in the knockouts.

10. Lungi Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi’s impact in this T20 World Cup goes beyond stats. His variations mainly the dipping slower one and pin-point yorkers have been devastating. Ngidi has emerged as the toughest bowler to hit after Bumrah, and is third on the list for most wickets in the tournament.

He picked three wickets against the mighty West Indies to break the back of their top-order, and went for just 15 runs from his four overs against India.

11. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah is the greatest T20 bowler in the world, and this list would never have been complete without him. A bowler who the captain banks on everytime he needs wickets, Bumrah has never failed.

Against West Indies when Hetmyer was smashing the ball, Bumrah immediately got him out. Even the in-form South African batting including Quinton de Kock, Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosche were unable to go after the speedster.

Who has been the most valuable player in T20 World Cup 2026?

Will Jacks, with contributions from both bat and ball, has been the MVP of the competition.

Which Indians feature in this list?

Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah are the Indians present in this list.
