Travis Head scored a ton in the third BGT 2024-25 test at the Gabba.

The fifth day of the third Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test began with a sense of inevitability – a dull draw. However, fans were entertained during Australia’s second innings.

After dismissing India for 260 in the first innings, the hosts came out with an aggressive approach with a quick declaration in mind. While the intent of the Australians was commendable, their execution wasn’t. The Aussies lost half of their side for just 33 runs.

Travis Head was promoted to No. 4 ahead of Steve Smith to score quick runs. He started well, hitting a couple of boundaries but was soon dismissed by Indian speedster Mohammed Siraj.

Head was dismissed in the 15th over when he attempted a pull on a short delivery. The ball took the top edge and went high before landing safely in Rishabh Pant‘s gloves.

What stole the spotlight, however, was a moment off the field. A young Indian fan in the stands animatedly celebrated the southpaw’s wicket. The fan’s reaction captured the relief of Indian supporters who have seen Head trouble their team since last year.
