Jasprit Bumrah took a six-wicket haul in first innings of the Gabba test.

Australia have dominated India in all three departments in the ongoing third test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 test in Brisbane.

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Indian captain Rohit Sharma looked clueless against the dominant Aussie batters. Despite losing three wickets for 75 runs, Travis Head and Steve Smith joined forces to add 241 runs for the third wicket. While Smith ended his 15-month century drought by registering his 33rd test ton, Travis Head continued to be a “headache” for India with his 152-run knock.

India finally bowled out Australia for 445 runs on day 3, but now find their back against the wall with the scorecard reading 51/4 at the end of third day. Amid struggles, Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s lone warrior, claiming a sensational six-wicket haul in the first innings. He also leads the highest wicket-takers’ chart in the series with his tally of 17 wickets.

The Indian speedster has now shared his thoughts on Mohammed Siraj‘s fighting spirit in the Gabba test.

Speaking to the media after the third day’s play of the Brisbane test, Bumrah praised Siraj for his determination to fight through a niggle for the team.

Bumrah said, “In this game, I’ll give him credit, he had a little bit of a niggle but still he kept on bowling and helped the team because he knew if he goes inside and doesn’t bowl, the team will go under pressure.”

He continued, “He’s got a great attitude and he’s got a fighter’s spirit that the team loves. I personally love that. He’s up for a fight and always gives his all for the team.

Backing his teammates, Bumrah added that the Indian team is undergoing a transitional phase.

He concluded, “We as a team don’t point fingers at each other. We don’t want to get into that mindset. A lot of new players are coming here. It’s not the easiest place to play cricket.
